MEMORIAL TO...
Amos Doyle Arnold 1912-1919
Amos was the son of George Ned Arnold and Jessie Tamsett Arnold. He was the first child and only boy of their eight children.
Photo: Amos, George and Jessie holding twins Opie and Obie, Wilma, Arbie. (Mildred, Verlie, and Joan had not been born yet.)
Amos died at age 7 of typhoid fever. Nonetheless, we do have several pictures of him:

Photo: Arbie, Wilma, Amos
In the picture below you can barely see Amos. He is on the far left, peeking out from behind a gravestone. The rest of the people in the photo are 'Ma' Arnold, her daughter Annie Arnold Hicks, and Jessie Tamsett Arnold (wife of Annie's brother George), and their children. Ruby, Irene, Cleffie, and Elvin are Annie's children. Amos, Mildred, Verlie, Wilma, and Arbie are Jessie's children.
This picture was taken at Pine Grove Cemetery, where most of our Carter/Arnold folks are buried. The annual Carter/Arnold family reunion was held at Pine Grove Cemetery (between Floral and Banner, Arkansas) until the late 1990s. Since then it has been held at Heber Springs park. As far as I know, the reunion still takes place every year.
