Lindsey Peyton Hulsey died 11 May 1966

About Lindsey Peyton Thomas' mother:
Olive was the daughter of Alexander & Lucretia (Horton) Burns. She was first married to Lindsey Peyton Thomas about 1849. He was killed on the first day at the Battle of Stones River, Murfreesboro, Rutherford Co, TN, 31 Dec 1862. He was a member of Co G, 28th AL Reg, CSA. Their children were William R, Wade M, Rebecca Catherine, K C, Miles Lafayette, and Frances Malinda Thomas.

She married 2nd to Kenion Tarpley Hulsey who died about 1872 in Jefferson Co, AL. Lindsey Peyton Hulsey was the only son by her 2nd marriage whom she named in honor of her deceased first husband.

Lindsey Peyton Hulsey was a 1st cousin to my great-great-grandmother Malisa Burns Hicks

The Burns family lineage provided the documentation my mother and I needed for membership in the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).

Lindsey's mother (Olive) and Malisa's father (Charles) were brother and sister. Their father was Alexander Abner Burns II.

Alexander was the son of Alexander Abner Burns I -- who was a Revolutionary War soldier.

from his FindAGrave memorial:
Alexander Burns served in the Revolution in Captain Joseph Martin's Unit under General Christie. Three brothers of Alexander  (Willam, John and Andrew Burns) served with him. Alexander and his brothers all took the Oath of Allegiance in 1777, Martinsville, Henry County, Virginia.

Alexander, his wife, and other family members are buried at the Rickwood Caverns State Park in Blount County, Alabama. (We're gonna go up there one of these days and take some pictures, I promise. This photo is from the FindAGrave website.)
