Another family history mystery...

 

Okay, so...

Doc Barnett (married to my great-aunt Irene Hicks Barnett) had a half-sister named Gradie McKay. (As you'll recall, he also had a half-brother named Earl, of the great Aint Looveenee saga.) So here's my question... 

Elvin Hicks (brother of Irene Hicks Barnett) married a woman by the name of Mildred McKay. They had four children, two boys and two girls. One of their daughters was named Gradie Ann Jeannette. She was called Jeannie. Now do you suppose......    that maybe Mildred's mother was Gradie McKay (half-sister of Doc and Jack Barnett, who married Irene and Ruby Hicks)....????   

Elvin and Mildred lived in California all of my growing-up years... 

Gradie McKay lived in California... 

(could that be WHY Elvin and Mildred moved to California?)...
