Adelbert Smith 'Bud' Burford, Jr. was born 14 November 1930 in Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri.
I don't have any pictures of Bud Burford.
Bud was the son of Adelbert Smith 'Deb' Burford and Florence Mae Reynolds.
Bud Burford married Almaretta Elsie Buchheit 25 September 1950 in Jefferson County, Missouri, daughter of Florian Louis Buchheit and Elsie Emma Trost. She was born 24 November 1934 in Missouri. I don't have a picture of her.
As far as I can figure out, Bud and his wife had two children - sons Delbert "Del" Burford, Jr., and Steve Burford (mentioned in Del's obituary).
Here is an anecdote my mother wrote about Bud Burford:
Bud refused to drink any milk that came out of a cow, and wouldn't drink a drop of it until he got home to St. Louis where people were civilized and only drank milk that came in bottles. He was at Uncle George's farm in Wynne. He was spending a few weeks there one summer. I don't know why ~~ I guess he just wanted to do it, or his parents couldn't stand him any longer or whatever it was. But he was a city boy and I know he was glad to get back home after his adventures in country living.
A note from Bob Burford:
Bud was an exceptionally gifted jazz accordion player a la Art Van Damme.

Bud Burford died in 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri. Bud's name and dates are inscribed on the gravestone of his mother, Florence Burford. I don't know if he is actually buried there or not. On her FindAGrave memorial it is noted that she shares a gravestone with her son "Del". The birth and death dates match, so apparently some folks called him "Del" even though everyone in the family that I've ever heard speak of him called him "Bud."
This is a photo of Bud's son (Florence's grandson) -- also called "Del" Burford -- and his obituary.
