On This Day in Family History - September 5

 Seth William Gard married Eliza Jane Helpman Conklin 05 September 1870

The Gard branch of our family tree goes back to John Garde, born in 1539 in Alvington, Devonshire, England. He married Mary Suthcott. Ten generations later, the Gards became connected with the Gibson family by the marriage of Adeline Lucretia Gard to Asa Gibson in 1869 in Illinois, USA. 

They were the parents of Lora Gibson, who married Alexander Oscar Burford in 1899. Lora and Alexander were my great-grandparents.
