Actually, two of the Hicks sisters married Barnett brothers. Ruby married Arvil "Jack" Barnett in 1926, Irene married Golden "Doc" Barnett in 1934. Jack and Doc were younger brothers of Earl Barnett.

Let me explain the red tape on the back of this photo. The scanner that I use for most of the family pictures is a bar scanner, designed for scanning documents. It can handle color photos all right, but tends to treat black and white photos as if they were documents, and so they come out looking like bad xrays or something. The cure for this problem is to add a touch of color to the picture, and then the scanner stays in the right mode to make a true image. So if you've noticed splotches of red on some of my pictures, that's why.
