Arnold Ancestors - Generation 4 - Olan Hicks, Part Three

Olan was a musician, of course. He and Barbara, along with their children, were always performing.

This picture was taken at our house in Searcy, Arkansas, on Easter 1981. L-R: Barbara, Clint (red shirt), Chuck, Jeannie, and Olan on steel guitar.

This was at the annual Carter/Arnold family reunion in Heber Springs, Arkansas, in 1990.

Olan wrote a song in 1953. I have a picture of the original copy of the song, and I've heard Uncle Olan sing it. I thought I vaguely remembered hearing that someone had recorded the song at some point in time. Well, I decided to look on YouTube, and... lo and behold, I found it!!!

Cold Gray Dawn

Olan's sons Clint and Chuck have also written and recorded a lot of music. I don't know if they are commercially available or not. (All of us in the family have them on CDs.)
