Y'all got me thinking about high school today. It's my high school sweetheart's birthday. You never forget your first love, right? So I'm gonna stray from the beaten path and post some not-family pictures today.
Michael Kenton Banic
Me and Mike at Junior Prom 1971
Here is the girl he married - Leda Frantz
They have been happily married almost 50 years now.
A few other guys that I remember from my school days...
Jim Harmon
We dated for about a year in junior high school.
He proposed after our high school graduation, even though we had not dated since 8th grade.
Steve MacGowan
First boy I ever kissed. (7th grade)
Carl Bishop
In 4th grade he had a huge crush on me.
He proposed after we graduated, even though we had not seen each other since 4th grade. (My family moved from Bangor to Hartford in the middle of the school year, so Carl and I were in different towns and different schools.)
I sometimes wonder if my mom was going around paying my old boyfriends to propose that summer after graduation, so I would get married and not go to college. LOL
Two of my early "boyfriends" left public school and went to military schools.
David Cherry used to walk me home from school every day, in 2nd grade.
Ricky Schmigle was sweet on me for a while in 7th grade.
I don't have any pictures of David Cherry

Well, that's enough of a stroll down memory lane. Now back to real life...
That was fun. You had lots of boys wanting to marry you! What a riot! That's cool that you still had pictures of them.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about the past lots recently. Old friends, good times, what could have been. Guess it is an age thing.
