George H. Thomas died 05 November 1882, age 87
I don't have any pictures of George H. Thomas, but I am including him here because he and his wife Adeline Baker purchased the property that became the Thomas Family Centennial Farm in Bangor, Michigan.
PHOTOS: From my dad's family history album.
This picture was taken in September 2023.
This photo of the house was taken from the Thomas Cemetery, March 2024
The farm remained in the Thomas family for 5 generations. It was passed down from George and Adeline Thomas to their son Washington Thomas, and then to his son Charles Thomas (my great-grandfather), then to Melvin Thomas, and finally to Mel's son Roger. It was sold after the death of Roger Thomas in 2012.
PHOTO: Back - Nancy Thomas (my great-grandmother), cousin Wilsie McMurtry (visiting from New York), William Ford (Nancy's father), Renue Thomas (Charles and Nancy's daughter), Charles Thomas. Front - Mel Thomas, Bill Thomas (my grandfather). The little girl in the center is Georganna, the daughter of Roy Thomas (older brother of Mel, Bill, and Renue). The location for this photo is the front porch of the Thomas farmhouse.
