Mike was the son of Bernice and Dorothy Burford.

Mike Burford married Barbara Elaine Bruce.

Charles Michael Burford, Jr., born in 14 May 1974 in Galveston, Texas; died 17 February 2006 in Georgia. (His obituary mentions a brother Scott.)

Charles Michael Burford, Jr., age 31 of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on February 17, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Sacha Beach of Gainesville, GA, and her parents, Richard & Linda Scarbrough; and was preceded in death by his step-son, Eric Beach; his companion, Jennifer Garrett, and her parents, James & Rosemarie Person and her children, Robert, Amber & R.J.; his mother, Barbara Quigley; his daughter, Allison; brother, Scott; aunts, uncles and cousins. Sharon Sue Burford was born 17 February 1946 in Alton, Illinois.

Sue was the daughter of Bernice and Dorothy Burford.

Sue Burford married Robert Tripp. 

I don't have a picture of him.

Sue and Robert had one child -- Gina Jeanine Tripp, born in August 1974; died 12 June 2022; married Greg Hollenbeck.

If you Google Gina Hollenbeck, you'll find a lot of articles about her courageous 7-year battle with lung cancer, and the many spectacular things she did to promote lung cancer awareness and research.

Burford Ancestors - Generation 5 - David Allen Burford

David Allen Burford was born 20 March 1944 in Alton, Illinois.

David was the son of Bernice and Dorothy Burford.

Just FYI -- It seems he was called Bernie by his children and descendants. I only heard him mentioned in the context of my grandparents' household -- Lester (his brother) and Cleffie Burford. In that context, to my recollection, he was always called "Bernice".

David Burford married Judy Lisman.

I don't have a picture of her.

[Are they twins? There are a lot of twins in the Burford lineage.]

The closer I get to the current generation, the harder it is to find documentation. In most of my record-keeping I don't go beyond my grandparents' generation -- which would be Bernice and Dorothy's generation. I usually don't go into the more current progeny, those who may still be living. I've been doing a little more digging for the Burford relatives, just because I don't know as much about them as I do about the Hicks/Arnold/Carters -- and because I have joined a Facebook group comprised of the current generation of Burfords, mostly Bernice and Dorothy's offspring, who can give me some up-to-date insights. I sure do appreciate them!

He was the son of Bernice and Dorothy Burford.

George married Josie Manus Davis.

Mr. Mark Anthony Burford, age 51, of the Somerville Community, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Burford was born on December 23, 1968 to George Burford and Josie Manus Burford in Alton, Illinois. Mr. Burford was employed by Huntsville City Schools working as their dedicated Custodian. Burford Ancestors - Generation 5 - Gerald Wayne Burford

Gerald Wayne Burford was born 26 September 1939 in Brinkley, Monroe County, Arkansas.

These are the only pictures I have of Jerry Burford.

Jerry was the son of Bernice and Dorothy Burford.

I don't really know much about Jerry. Here is what my mother wrote in her memoirs: 

Jerry had polio when he was about 5 years old.  He was paralyzed from the waist down.  He used crutches. He was a good singer, and I remember him singing for the family when we were children, and the family would get together.

Jerry worked at the space center in Corpus Christi, Texas.  He was an inspector and he inspected the turbo engines that went to the moon.  They fixed him a moving belt that would move him and his wheel chair to whatever spot he needed to be in the process of doing his job.  Jerry lost the use of his left arm and hand in an accident at work while he was working at the space center. When Jerry died in Corpus Christi, Texas, his family had him cremated and his ashes sent to them in Alton, Illinois for burial.

Jerry Burford married Hannah (unknown maiden name).

Children of Jerry and Hannah Burford are:

i. Carrianna Stratton Burford, born 1965.

ii. Gerald Paul Burford, born 1967.

iii. Dorothy April Burford, born 1969.

Burford Ancestors - Generation 5 - Marvin Ted Burford

Marvin Ted Burford was born 17 February 1942 in Kansas.

Ted was the son of Killough Burford and Louise Lyon.

Ted Burford married Dorothy Tallian, daughter of Edward and Elvira Tallian. She was born 06 February 1946.

Ted and Dorothy had one child, a son, Michael Ted Burford, born 16 February 1972.

I don't have any adult pictures of Ted, and I don't have any pictures of Dorothy or Michael.

Ted and Dorothy and Michael all died when a Navy jet crashed into their apartment building in Alameda, California, 07 February 1973.

They are buried in North Fork Cemetery North Fork, Madera County, California.

(I don't know how his name got translated to Merven -- but the few legal documents I have found on Ted have his first name recorded as Merven. Still, I'm relatively certain he was named after his father -- Killough MARVIN Burford. I don't know if his middle name was actually Ted or something longer, like Theodore. I think his full name was supposed to be Marvin Ted Burford.)

Burford Ancestors - Generation 5 - Thelma Erlene Burford

Thelma Erlene Burford was born 24 March 1924 in Arkansas, and died 15 December 1999 in Cherry Valley, Cross County, Arkansas. 

Erlene was the daughter of George and Willie Mae Burford. 

Erlene married Arnold Wesley Slocum 13 September 1941 in Arkansas, son of  Daniel Webster Slocum

and Pearl Elizabeth Browning. He was born 22 February 1922 in Arkansas, and died 22 October 1994 in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas.

Children of Erlene Burford and Arnold Slocum are:

i. Larry Arnold Slocum, born 16 June 1942; married Margaret Karnes.

ii. Linda Sue Slocum, born 25 February 1946; married John Barry Carwell

(I don't know who the other children listed on his gravestone are. I'm not aware of any other marriage, but it seems like maybe there might have been one.)

Mildred Burford married James Kenneth Parmenter, son of  Bert Edward Parmenter and Bertha Eliza Tait. He was born 01 September 1912 in Wichita, Kansas, and died 06 January 1956 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
