My first birthday. At this time we lived on Cass Street in Bangor. This was actually the third place I had lived in my first year of life. When I was born we lived in an upstairs apartment of a house on Elm Street in Watervliet. Then we moved into a little house on Washington Street in Hartford, next door to my dad's aunt Renue and uncle Erwin. And by my birthday we had moved into a duplex in Bangor. Of course, I don't have any memories of those places.
Birthday party guests were Grandma (Christie) & Grandpa (Bill) Thomas, Grandma (Cleffie) & Papa (Lester) Burford, Uncle Bobby Burford, Uncle Ronnie Burford, Uncle Bernarde & Aunt Eileen Thomas, Mick and Greg Thomas.
Remember those yellow Kodak booklets that pictures were packaged in? And the white crinkly edges on the photos?

PHOTO: I don't know if this was my first doll or not. I always got a doll for my birthday and for Christmas every year.

The coverall I'm wearing was red corduroy, a birthday present from Mom and Dad. I've always had a kind of fascination with high top white baby shoes like all toddlers wore back then. I still like to wear shoes that look similar -- like Reebok princess high tops. (They have to be white, though. I once bought a pair of black ones and never wore them.)
