Ulysses Olan Hicks was born 03 November 1927

Olan was the 7th child of my great-grandparents Ulysses and Annie Hicks

This picture of Ulys and Annie and their children also includes Ruby's husband Jack and their daughter Oma Dell. Annie had two more babies after her first grandchild was born.

Olan married Barbara Smith

Olan and Barbara had 3 children - Jeannie, Clint, and Chuck

Olan and Barbara were married 74 years.

Olan was a musician, teacher, author and evangelist. He and Barbara spent many years traveling the country, entertaining and spreading the gospel.

Olan Hicks died in 2019, Barbara died in 2020.

Alexander was the great-grandfather of my great-great-grandmother Malisa Burns Hicks.

I don't have a picture of him, but I include him because he served in the Revolutionary War and is the connection that allowed my mother and me to join the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Sarah was the midwife who attended the birth of my grandmother Cleffie Hicks in 1917.

Cleffie's mother was Annie Arnold Hicks. Sarah's daughter Amy married Annie's uncle John Carter. Sarah's daughter Jessie married Annie's brother George Arnold.
